Roadway Worker Training

 Employee in Charge

 

Railroad Protective Services, Inc. under Roadway Worker Training has an opening for a Railroad Employee in Charge to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the contractors and employees working along the CN Railroad. The Employee in Charge will perform roadway worker protection duties including, but not limited to: flagging, dispatch communication, train communication, coordinating schedules, and daily job and safety briefings. The EIC is responsible for ensuring that all workers are compliant with CN and FRA rules and regulations. 1+ years of railroad experience preferred. Hours vary based on job with potential to work nights and weekends as needed.  

Requirements:

  • Travel required.
  • Variable hours, but wanting a full time person.
  • FRA Certified.
  • 10 years of working for a railroad in the transportation department or 2 years in the MOW/engineering department.
  • E-rail safe certified.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of FRA safety rules and regulations preferred.
  • Plan and conduct daily job briefings.
  • Ability to use a radio and ipad for data tracking and communication.
  • Experience in Maintenance of Way standards.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willing to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work as a team or independently.
  • Extensive background and drug screen required.
  • Characteristic qualified on territories.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
